Confield is Autechre's 6th album, released in 2001.
One of the preeminent practitioners of the style of electronica labeled "Intelligent Dance Music," Autechre (consisting of Sean Booth and Rob Brown) returned with their first album in three years.
Where many of their previous albums had been almost commercial, this marked a true departure for the band.
