Songs For Midi

Half a decade on from his debut album Ilp, Kwes takes centre stage once again with the release of his stunning new EP, Songs For Midi. For those who are not in the loop, the intervening five years since Ilp have seen Kwes writing, producing, mixing and playing with a whole host of artists, including Bobby Womack, NAO, Solange, Loyle Carner and Kelela.

Back in the studio and taking the central seat, Songs For Midi draws forth six tracks of very vivid and wonderfully hallucinogenic World of Echo electronica. Each piece of delicately crafted experimental electronica taps into the richer ends of the recent years' soulful RNB sound spectrum, of which he has played both a left of and now, once again, a central role in crafting.
